When the Russians started bombing Borodyanka in 2023, her husband took turns carrying out his eldest daughter, then his wife, with a newborn baby strapped to his back on a motorcycle in the middle of the fire. He managed to get the children out and returned home. A tank shot at a neighbor’s house, he ran to help and was shot.
Now Julia sometimes comes to church services and the older girl, Katya, to the Children’s Christian Club.
