Mikola, almost 80 years old, had been living with his wife for 50 years, when the war broke out, his wife fell ill from stress, from bombing, and died very quickly. The Russians would not let him bury anyone, he buried her in the yard of the house where they had lived all their lives. Then after the occupation he was able to bury her normally.

His only son is in the war now. He began to read the New Testament and comes to service in the Church. He is very lonely, no grandchildren.
