Lida

Name: Lida
City: Chornobyl region
Author: Oleg Gusev

The story of grandmother Lida, who lives in the Chernobyl zone, is touching and full of hope. She spent her 83 years in one village, in one house. Despite the difficulties and hardships that she experienced, grandmother Lida always continued to fight for her life.

Grandmother Lida, who became blind after the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, continues her life with the help of a wheelchair stick. Living in complete solitude, she faces many life challenges and, despite all the difficulties that she goes through, she does not lose hope and faith in God.

Help came to grandmother Lida thanks to random people who heard about her situation and told our team about it. When our team visited her home, we saw her struggle for every step and desire to live, despite the health problems she had. Looking at her, we admired how much she loved life, despite the fact that she is blind and does not see anything.

This winter, after the departure of the Russian military, there was no firewood in her house, she was worried about how she could get through the winter and not freeze. Since her pension is very small, she could not afford to buy firewood. Thanks to your generous support, we helped her get through the winter by providing her with firewood and food. The team visits her regularly, bringing care and God’s love into her life. Grandmother Lida loves to talk about the Lord and is grateful for every gift she receives.

Recently, she was given a radio receiver, which became a source of joy and inspiration for her. Now, although she cannot see the world around her, she can listen to the words of the gospel and immerse herself in prayer. This was the most valuable gift for her and allowed her to feel the closeness of God in her life.

Thanks to the support and care rendered to grandmother Lida, she was able to find new hope and strength for life. She once said that before she did not love life when she could see, but now she loves life even more because she sees Jesus in it. Being alone, she prayed to the Lord and God brought you and me into her life.

We express our sincere gratitude to everyone who sends donations and supports this ministry. Thanks to your generosity, we can bring light and care to the homes of lonely people, like Grandmother Lida. Your kindness and love change lives and bring hope to those who need it so much.
